First off i ll provide a guideline.
Chandelier height above dining room table.
For example if you have a 9 foot 2 7 m ceiling add another foot to the chandelier cord chain and so on.
The bottom of the fixture should be 32 to 36 inches above the tabletop.
If you ceiling is higher than 8 feet 2 4 m you can adjust the height accordingly based on the height of the table plus the height of the chandelier above the table.
Keep all lights at least 6 inches from the ends of the table or island.
It depends on the size of the table the diameter and height of the fixture and the height of the ceiling.
I really feel that every situation is different.
If the ceiling is higher the recommended standard is to raise the chandelier 3 inches for each additional foot of ceiling height.
Single chandeliers should be centered over the table or island while multiple chandeliers or pendants should hang 30 inches apart from each other.
This range assumes you have an 8 foot ceiling.
