Chevy Truck Door Latch Stuck Closed

Hey guys my drivers side door will not open from the outside as well as inside.

Usually caused by a broken. Well in my case the little plate wasn t popping back out. Took off inside panel and seat belt assembly then unscrewed latch assembly again sprayed the rusted latch and worked it until it was free not easy but with patience. The outter door button pushes in a little plate which activates the door release.

I know the door latch is broken my question is how do i open the door. Roll the window down and carefully push the door panel away at the top right above the latch rear of door then look down inside the door at the latch and figure out which rod fell of the latch. This somehow prevents the door lock from disengaging which prevented the door from opening. So every time i lock the door and use the door outter door handle to open the door it will get stuck.
